“It also might be safe to assume that his rapidly growing following can be attributed to his ability to capture the imaginations of fashion fiends, opening their minds to a world where elaborate sleeves and exaggerations are no longer a thing of avant-garde runway looks and where your garments have a personality of their own.”
“I have accepted that I will never commit to a certain style because there is so much more to fashion, you should be able to gracefully transition from one style to another and play around with it because style is an art. You get to tap into someone’s creativity just by looking at what they’re wearing, so why limit yourself?”
Chokers have been an ‘it’ trend this year and its only getting bigger. Whether its velvet, denim, lace, chain or bandana, I don’t think there’s anyone out there who doesn’t own at least one choker. For this reason I teamed up with fellow blogger and friend, Tetehumba of The Creative In Me and we made 4 different DIY chokers that will have you looking bang on trend effortlessly!
Day 5 of SAFW was all about the men and it was also the last day of fashion week. To continue with honouring the ‘no colour’ theme, I decided to wear a crisp white button down shirt that I got from Woolworths from the men’s section and wore it as a shirt dress. This is what I love about fashion lately, you are free to move across departments and styling has really become androgynous as gender barriers are being crossed.
Put the corny nature of my title aside and let’s just appreciate that there’s nothing better than when your clothes kind of come alive. The flower appliqué on this shirt is truly unique, and the bell-end sleeves give it that vintage class. It’s like you can almost pick flowers off of me lol. I’m always contrasting styles and textures so I paired this delicate shirt with a distressed denim skirt.
