So I started SA fashion week on day 2 and went to see the Gert Johan Coetzee show in the afternoon which was off-site at the Westcliff Hotel followed by Rubicon, Mantsho, Kottin and Twille, Morphe and T’niche in the evening. It was my first time doing SA Fashion week and I didn’t know what to expect but I honestly had such a great time from seeing all the amazing fashion from the designers and meeting new people.
The theme for this seasons fashion week was ‘no colour’ so I resorted to my usual all black look. Because I can’t get enough of it, I wore my off-the-shoulder top by my fave, Matte Nolim and paired it with black distressed jeans and feather strap heels.
The ambiance at the GJC show was almost ethereal. The weather was absolutely beautiful and condusive to looking at his garmets over a glass of bubbly….or 3! The show was a combination of runway and an installation. This was a great concept because after seeing how the garmet flows on the runway, you also get to ‘interact’ with the models and get a closer look and feel of the garments.
For the evening shows I had front row seats to capture all the runway fashion. My favourite designers of the evening have to be Mantsho and T’niche.
Also, the goodies received were so great and included goodies from Rimmel, because who doesn’t love free stuff???
Look out for my next post tomorrow about Day 5, all about the men!
