Corporate Climbing

“It’s not over ’til the fat lady sings.”

I had officially come to terms with the fact that 2017 was over for me and that I would have to settle with starting the niceties of entering a new year with a list full of goals and resolutions which are given up on almost the very next day. Nonetheless, as the old saying goes: “it’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings,” and even though that didn’t happen in the literal sense, I ended up landing my very first job at Deloitte. A pretty dope milestone and a great way to set the bar high in terms of the future. Never did I think I’d find myself, at 23, meandering the corridors of a big corporate firm and actually enjoy my time there. Life’s curveballs can be quite interesting at times!

Even in the excitement and seriousness of my new vocation, one thing I will not allow to happen is for me to be entirely distracted me from my ‘virtual baby’ so I’ll still be blogging as per usual and once I settle in here, I will pick up the pace again. I’ve got some new projects and ventures I have planned to execute in the new year so I guess there’s already something to look out for. It will definitely be a lesson in time management and other ‘adulting’ things.

So here is a corporate look with a touch of creativity. Well my take at least. Haven’t worn it to work because, “no jeans allowed,” so I don’t know if wearing a denim skirt is flirting with trouble but this is the internet and I can do whatever I want, yes? NO! Well not really, ‘Big Brother’ is watching!

In retrospect I can without a doubt say that in the past two weeks, or less. I have met some of the best people, under professional circumstances no less. The most beautiful things happen in the most unlikely of places. I’m all in favour of them and this new chapter of my life. Let’s see how it all turns out shall we?

I promise not to make you wait too long for the next post. You can hold me to that.
