Coats & Perspex (Part II: Orange is the new black)

Lerato back at it with the Coats & Perspex!  This time around I’m lampshading. What’s lampshading you ask? Well initially I also had no idea what that meant but simply put it’s the term used to describe the oversized T-shirt paired with over-the-knee boots trend. Once you get that mental picture going the term lampshading starts making a little more sense. At first the plan was to shoot wearing an oversized tee but then I got my hands on this coat and it just made more sense to use it. As mentioned in Coats & Perspex (Part I: Dusty Pink), I’m wearing another summery colourway but this time a more bold orange as compared to the neutral shade of the pink coat. The batwing design of the coat makes it easier for the coat to be worn all day as the main ‘lampshading’ piece. Ego Shoes has definitely been the plug for me in terms of boots this season. Got my Dior inspired perspex boots at a fraction of the Dior price. It doesn’t get better than that!

I’d also like to add that this was undoubtedly my favourite shoot thus far as I got to do it in my home town, Emalahleni f.k.a Witbank. The crisp blue sky complimented the coat so well and it made shooting so effortless. It just worked! I love it when my surroundings compliment my outfit!

Xo.
