Last week I linked up with an old friend of mine, Amo and we decided to do a shoot at +27 Café in Hatfield, Pretoria. This was the second time we do a shoot together but I think this time around we really understood each other better and our shooting styles. In terms of my outfit, I decided to go for a more casual look for this shoot and incorporated some ‘boyish swag’ with the blazer and rolled up jeans. I also enjoyed a nice cup of coffee because it was quite a nippy afternoon.
Shooting at +27 Café made for a laid back environment so it was wasn’t difficult to ease into things. It’s a hidden gem in Hatfield and offers a refreshing outdoor atmosphere and it is better defined as a design studio. You can literally do it all there, enjoy a good meal while working or socialising, or both! I took a liking to the bar area, where most of the photos where taken. The lighting in that room is almost ethereal, be it the natural light that comes in at dusk or the beautiful lighting from the rustic styled hanging lights. Perfect for sundowners in my opinion. If you’re a plant lover much like myself you’ll be pleasantly satisfied with the selection of plants that they have, particularly succulents (my favourite) and the use of the jade plants as centre pieces is a minimalists dream and great if you want to take a picture when you’re “doing it for the gram”. It truly is a great space especially if you’re looking for a different kind of vibe.
